My name is Arush Shah and I'm currently a Junior majoring in Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. I have a keen interest in software development, hardware, and finance. Outside of academics, I like to strum on a guitar or play a rigorous game of table tennis.
I am currently interning for the summer at DrFirst, a company specializing in E-Prescription software. I am part of the Patient Innovations team, in which I develop backend APIs using Java Spring MVC to assist care providers and patients with finding cost effective prescription drugs.
I spent my freshman year summer at Northrop Grumman. I was given the opportunity to work on a research and development team to develop software tools for the U.S. Army - Psychological Operations. I spent most of my time here prototyping application features using Pega Systems for the core development team.
Bachelor's Degree: Computer Engineering
Minor: Cybersecurity
GPA: 3.8/4.0
I spent part of my senior year in high school interning at BrightLogic as a software developer. I developed Unity-based applications for an optical sensor integrated interactive LED floor. I also created an Arduino-based IoT device communication interface using MQTT subscription/publication protocol. My main project, however, was implementing a database replication system using Python to facilitate production and reporting database maintenance for a digital beverage ordering system for casinos.
I spent the summer of my Junior year interning at Maker Depot. Here, I developed a Python based curriculum management software to promote STEM in public schools. I also spent a lot of time teaching classes on 3D printing, Arduino, and Python programming.
